Pushing myself hard at the company that I’ve worked with for 12 years has really paid off for me. I’m living another country at the New Futura building located in the heart of the city. I have a coveted executive position at work. I can afford all the things that I need and much more. I get to travel for work, and I enjoy that. I will continue to do all that I can to give the company everything that I’ve got to be a success for my sake and theirs.
I started out in an entry level position for my company in my twenties. I worked in the mail room. I realized early on that I was not going to get very far without a college degree, so I worked during the day and went to school at night. I knew that it would be tough, but I also knew that struggling for the rest of my life with no degree to help me make a better path for myself would be even harder. I also knew that getting a degree takes only four years of hard work, while struggling in minimum wage jobs for life is much worse.
As soon as I graduated with a degree in business, I worked toward securing a better position outside of the mail room. I began working in the sales department, and I found it to be fast paced and fun. I did everything I could each month to meet my sales quotas and exceed them whenever possible. After about a few years of doing that, I soon found myself getting the position of the lead supervisor for my team. Three years later, I was promoted to the executive management position. I push my team hard, and I make sure that I only hire the best people.
